Friends of the Riverwalk: Adopt A Little Piece of River City

Friends of the Riverwalk is a group of community volunteers dedicated to helping care for Mason City’s award-winning Willow Creek Riverwalk and the beautiful botanical gardens and native prairie plantings that line the way.  

To make volunteering easy and manageable, the Riverwalk has been divided into 10 different zones.

>>SIGN UP HERE to adopt your little piece of River City. Take ownership of one of the 10 Riverwalk zones (listed below) and serve as the primary volunteer contact for that area. Recruit friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, or other volunteers to lend a hand — or care for your zone independently. 

No gardening expertise is required. Volunteers will receive training and helpful guidance for identifying weeds, caring for botanical gardens, and maintaining native prairie plantings.
