Friends of the Riverwalk Volunteer Information Session

Community members interested in helping care for the botanical gardens and native plantings along Mason City’s Willow Creek Riverwalk are invited to learn more about becoming a Friend of the Riverwalk.

Join us for an informational session at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 17th at the Mason City Parks & Recreation offices inside Southbridge Mall.

Learn about simple, hands-on ways volunteers can help keep the Riverwalk looking its best throughout the year. Volunteer opportunities may include sweeping walkways, pulling weeds, picking up litter, tidying garden areas, and helping keep the Riverwalk sparkling for residents and visitors.

No gardening experience is necessary! Volunteers will receive guidance on identifying weeds versus native plants, along with helpful pointers for caring for the Riverwalk’s native prairie plantings.

Whether you’re an experienced gardener or simply someone who takes pride in our community, there’s a place for you. Come learn how you can lend a hand, meet other Riverwalk supporters, and help care for one of Mason City’s most beautiful public spaces.
