Enjoy free live music in the heart of downtown Mason City during the Friday Night Live Summer Series! Held every Friday evening from June through mid-August, this beloved summer tradition brings the community together for an evening of music, food, drinks, and downtown fun at the Principal Performing Arts Pavilion on the Federal Avenue Pedestrian Plaza.
Enjoy an evening of timeless jazz during Friday Night Live as the Antonio Lopes Quintet takes the stage on Friday, July 10th. Featuring selections from the Great American Songbook and jazz standards by legendary composers such as Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, and more, the Antonio Lopes Quintet delivers an unforgettable performance filled with rich melodies, improvisation, and classic jazz energy.
Based in northern Iowa, Antonio Lopes is a dedicated performer, educator, band leader, and producer who has become a familiar face throughout Iowa and Minnesota’s jazz scene since relocating from California in 2019. Antonio has performed at top jazz venues and festivals across the state, including Noce in Des Moines and the Iowa City Jazz Festival, and has collaborated with numerous respected musicians and ensembles throughout the region.
Bring your lawn chairs, gather your friends and family, and spend your Friday nights experiencing the energy and atmosphere of downtown Mason City. Guests are encouraged to explore downtown shops, restaurants, bars, and eateries before and during the performances. Music takes place from 6 PM-8 PM and is free and open to the public. In the event of inclement weather, performances will move indoors to the pavilion at Southbridge Mall.
